John Cena recently turned her back on WWE fans, betraying Cody Rhodes’ friendship and joining The Rock. On “Drazy open radio“Tommy Dreamer had notes for the shocking turn, although he put it with it.
“The only thing I can compare is (Hulk Hogan turning the heel),” said Dreamer. “Shock value worked. People were talking about it?” Worked. “
Dreamer thinks that Cena and WWE have managed to create a lot of titles and a lot of interest from fans, but is not ready to put it in the upper ladder of wrestling shocks.
“If you speak of a heel turn, you are supposed to be huĂ©. The moment he turned and everyone jumped,” said Dreamer. “Everyone was standing in applauding. There were a little fingers in the middle. So if you are going to the old -fashioned, it was not a heel turn, they just jumped for John Cena.”
Dreamer thinks that Cena striking Rhodes with a Rolex has helped push the scene in a heel place, but has still heard the excitement of Toronto fans.
“There are people who jump and there are more noise, applause, hoots, but it worked,” Dreamer covered, saying that WWE had edited the replay in order to highlight the heat of the segment. “They massaged … They showed the faces, the crying children, all that, of the turn.”
Cena is currently on a retirement tour, which should end in December. The Talon shocking Tour was Cena’s last show in Toronto. Cena will face Rhodes at Wrestlemania 41 for the undisputed WWE championship after winning the titular match at Elimination Chamber. If he wins, he will break the record of the WWE renowned temple “Nature Boy” Ric Flair for 16 world titles.
