The “Netflix era” has officially arrived following January 6’s “WWE Raw,” as the company’s flagship show made its highly anticipated debut on the world’s largest streaming service. However, since then, many international subscribers have been able to watch the Jan. 7 “WWE NXT” and go back and watch thousands of hours of older footage thanks to the company’s deal with Netflix. This is something fans in the United States won’t be able to experience right away, as WWE still has a deal with Peacock, but during a recent interview with Sports IllustratedWWE CCO Triple H explained that moving all of WWE’s biggest events to Netflix is something he’s very interested in.
“Call Netflix and lobby for them when the PLE deal is done,” said Triple H, who confirmed that the deal with Peacock will expire around March 2026. “As for the current deal for PLEs, this WrestleMania which will take place in Las Vegas will be our last WrestleMania on this existing deal, at some point this year we will obviously do this deal with Peacock, which we love, and obviously they will receive a lot of consideration from us as as an existing partner. I think, I would like to think that if we succeed as we think we will, Netflix will be very interested.”
Triple H also explained that on the old WWE Network they had about 20,000 hours of on-demand footage, which he said is only a fraction of what WWE actually has. That said, WWE’s approximately 100,000 hours of tapes are being digitized, and he hopes Netflix will be interested in streaming as well.
