Texas A&M (13-3, 2-1 SEC) will likely see a slight drop in the rankings after falling to No. 5. Alabama Saturday night, losing 94-88 in one of the strangest games of the weekend, as the two teams combined for 88 free throws.

However, the Aggies finished a dismal 28-48 in the score. With star guard Wade Taylor IV out for his second straight game, there was no excuse for missing half of the free practice, as an average performance likely would have resulted in another top-25 victory.

Still, the Aggies are well prepared for Tuesday’s road game against No. 6 Kentucky, which recently earned a close road win over No. 14 Mississippi State on Saturday. Like Alabama, they are also one of the best shooting teams in the country.

Every week presents a challenge for the Aggies, but after a strong start in conference play combined with losing just two games in November and December, Texas A&M is poised (right now) to earn an at-large bid into the tournament. NCAA. Here are the SEC’s latest projections during the bid by Bart Torvik:

  13. Vanderbilt: 28.9%

  14. Arkansas: 10.1%

  15. Ultralight: 0.0%

  16. South Carolina: 0.0%

Texas A&M will return to face No. 6 Kentucky at Rupp Arena on January 14 at 6:00 p.m. CST. The match can be watched on ESPN2.
