Citing the UTEP male basketball team
Decreasing 67-66 in the final 2:01, UTEP missed five consecutive points at 3 points, the first three of which would have linked or given the minors. Jacksonville State Completed on a 9-0 race in the 2:22 finals.
“Some things: the shots did not go,” said Otis Frazier, who led minors with 17 points despite some big problems of first half. “Pierre did a 5-0 race by himself. They had a late offensive rebound that killed us. And they made free throws.”
Coach Joe Golding was the most upset by the start of his team when the minors abandoned the first six points and Golding collectively enhanced all over the bench, but admitted the end of the match.
“It has not entered,” said Golding about the last 2:01. “We had a good appearance and executed in the section, they simply entered. Giving a credit (Jacksonville State), they made a 9-0 race to win the match. They hit big blows . “
How it went
Gamecocks hit the shots that Utep couldn’t. The minors held Pierre, who came on average 21 points per game, at nine points (although with six assists) at 36:48, but he was huge in the section. He muscled inside for a play-up lay-up with 3:11 to play, then hit a step 3 with 2:21 to play for the 10th and last change of head of the match.
At the start of the match, he was suffocated by camping, but camping succeeded in the last 17 minutes with an injury.
During the next possession of Gamecock, the minors forced a failure, but Michael Hogue seized the 10th JSU offensive rebound in the match and followed him at home. The Gamecock achieved 10 offensive rebounds in the first half, but it was the only one in the second half.
Meanwhile, Utep finished 8 out of 22 on the 3 -point line after missing the last five attempts.
The UTEP was his normal self to force 12 Jacksonville state reversals in the first half, but he only got five more in the second period. However, the margin of more-9 turnover of the UTEP compensates the most-8 of JSU in rebound, which means that the game was the game at 2:00 last.
The Gamecocks took it.
Camper is injured in the ankle
The long-term concern will be the health of the motorhome. A possession after having marked on a vicious dunk Tomahawk with 18:03 which put the minors 36-34, he was under the offensive basket of Jacksonville State 20 seconds later when he went up and seemed to land on Frazier and turn the ankle.
Camper went to the ground and was helped out of the field by Golding and a coach. Camper returned to a walking boot.
Golding said the treatment started immediately after the match, but only known in the morning.
