The Minnesota Timberwolves will finish 2024 with a road trip to take on the Dallas Mavericks at 2:30 p.m. ET on Wednesday at the American Airlines Center. After losing a game the Timberwolves were expected to win, they now face the toughest task of proving themselves against unfavorable odds.
The Timberwolves head into Wednesday’s game looking for a big change in momentum after losing their third straight game on Monday. They suffered a 117-104 hit in the loss column at the hands of the Hawks.
Even though they lost, the Timberwolves worked as a unit and finished the game with 31 assists. This strong performance was nothing new for the team: they have now recorded at least 26 assists in four consecutive matchups.
Meanwhile, the Mavericks made it easy for the Trail Blazers on Monday and cruised to a 132-108 victory. With this victory, Dallas increased its scoring average to 118.8 points per game.

Minnesota’s loss dropped its record to 14-14. As for Dallas, they have been on a roll lately: they have won ten of their last 12 games, which is a nice improvement to their 19-10 record this season.
While only the Timberwolves took care of their fans the last time they played, neither team managed to cover. Looking ahead, the Mavericks are the favorites as experts expect them to win by 5.5 points. They might be worth a quick bet since they’re sitting on a six-game streak of covering the spread when playing as home favorites.
