WWE was the landing point for free agents like Penta, Ricky Saints and Jade Cargill, and now a former NJPW star could go to the company.
According to Fightful SelectWWE is interested in signing the former open weight champion Jeff Cobb, who once refused the company for NJPW. A fighting source even reported that COBB was already on the internal WWE list, but the complaint had not yet been verified. According to sources combat in the AEW, the company does not expect it to join.
COBB is expected to participate in the New Japan Cup this week, where he faces the former world heavyweight champion of the IWGP, Tetsuya Naito, in the second round. COBB recently deplored its lack of success in NJPW, even noting that it did not win as many climax G1 matches as before, planting the seeds for a possible exit from the company.
