WWE star CM Punk is apparently in the final years of his in-ring career, and he has outlined his plans for when he ends his Hall of Fame career.
Punk, who has been in the professional wrestling business for more than two decades, believes he will stay in the industry once he hangs up his boots, but has ruled out starting a promotion. But he sees a future where he could become a behind-the-scenes mentor or coach.
“Oh, no, if I start my own promotion, I want you to find me wherever I am and kick my ass (laughs). “Three parts to a career: you start and, to me, that’s when you learn; there’s the middle part, that’s where you win; and the third part is the comeback. Now , you are giving back. I would look forward to this third act and giving back to the company that has given me so much,” he added.
Since his return to WWE, Punk has been seen backstage at “WWE NXT,” offering words of wisdom to the young stars of the developing brand, with Shawn Michaels even discussing the possibility of Punk succeeding him. Others have also vouched for Punk to don the coaching hat, with Mark Henry recently stating that “The Second City Saint” is a good teacher.
